The Passing of Queen Elizabeth II

On September 8, 2022, Queen Elizabeth ll passed away. Queen Elizabeth died peacefully at Balmoral Place at the age of 96, Prince Charles III of Wales is now King Charles III.

 

Early Life

Queen Elizabeth was the oldest daughter of King George Vl. She also had a sister princess Margret who died in 2002 at the age of 71 and her mother died two months later at 101 years old. After her father died she took over the throne at the age of 25, her coronation was on June 2, 1953. Little did she know that she would have the longest reign of being queen. Her coronation was the first to be broadcasted on live television, with some 27 million people watching. On Thursday the 20 of November 1947 at Westminster Abbey in London, United Kingdom queen Elizabeth married Philip Mountbatten. They were married for 73 years before his death in 2021.

  • Queen Elizabeth ll had many attachments but the main attachment was that she was beloved by her people. 
  • She was the longest reigning monarch ever
  • She was the head of the Commonwealth, a group of sovereign territories that consider the Queen the head of state. 
  • She helped pass the Crown Act Of 2013 which means instead of favoring the prince they will favor whoever is eldest whether its a male or female
