Baseball Fun In Mr. Barnes’ Class

Baseball Fun In Mr. Barnes’ Class

Elliott Danger

On Monday April 11 we interviewed Mr. Barnes and various students about the new baseball era project in Middle school. Layton, the seventh grader says, “I really like the baseball project because I play baseball myself and I like the idea of getting to do a project on it.”  Mr. Barnes was very excited to tell his class about their new project, the eras they were assigned, and their group mates. Mr. Barnes mentioned he wanted the students to feel more comfortable presenting their projects and a fun way to do this is by presenting at an Angels Game! Mr. Barnes was also thrilled for this project because when he was younger he played baseball himself. All of the classes have been researching their different eras from newspapers from the past. Each group is going to be making their own newspaper to present their baseball eras. Some of the baseball eras include: The Dead Ball Era (1901 – 1920), World War 2 (1941 – 1945), Segregation Era (1901 – 1947), and Steroid Era (late 80s – 2005). Mr. Barnes is excited to get this project going and is excited to see what the students learn from this PBL project.
