3rd Grade Project - Habitats, Biomes, and Ecosystems

Natalie Nesterkine and Chloe Beimfohr

The 3rd graders have been hard at work learning about habitats, ecosystems, and biomes for their project. Chloe and I interviewed Miss. Daniels class to get a deeper understanding of what they are focusing on. Amber and Bella’s group was assigned the topic “Tropical Rainforest” while Donta’s group has been focusing on “Converse Forests.” A highlight of this project has been creating graphs to represent the temperature the animal’s habitats need to be at for survival. For example, Amber and Bella’s habitat needs to be set between 70 – 75 degrees. Many of the students enjoy watching educational videos on animals and how their biomes affect their lifestyles. This project required extra research outside of our campus. The 3rd graders went to Rancho Mission Viejo to study all of the environments that different species live in.
