The Pilgrim

April 3, 2020
Recently, at the Ocean Institute in Dana Point harbor, the colonial tall ship, the pilgrim keeled and is currently submerged. The Pilgrim is a historic ship, but did you know the one that sat at Dana Point was actually a remake of the original? Nonetheless, it was a staple at the Dana point harbor and many of us CRA students even took a field trip there in fourth grade. It was in need of repairs to the haul for months before it sunk, at first it was a question of money, but even when they were ready to begin the repairs, the quarantine began. So, she was left there, the night before she sank it is said that she began to keel, and the rest of her haul gave way. Possible salvage attempts are being discussed and currently they have atached booms to her to prevent any further damage, but with the threat of coronavirus repair seems unlikely. According to one news article, the pilgrim is beyond repair. If this is true, it is sad that we have all witnessed a piece of history become lost.
