Simple Steps on How To Not Get stapled on Any Roller Coaster: Tips and Tricks

April 2, 2020
Stapling is apart of the general public ride operators. Stapling is very painful and annoying if you want some airtime on a roller coaster. So if you want to not get stapled ever again, please follow these simple steps.
- Lean back and relax. What I mean by this is basically to keep your legs up just a bit, so you can get room. If you succeed from this first step, don’t go back into a normal seated position, so you give away that you didn’t get stapled.
- Keep your legs up a bit. The reason to keep your legs a bit is so if they staple down to the top of your legs, you can put your legs down when the train is dispatching. You would always want 2 stacked up palms between your thighs and the restraint.
- Scoot up forward a bit. It’s pretty self explanatory. You simply want to scoot up, so the restraint comes “all the way down.” When you dispatch, you would want to wait until the train leaves the station all the way, and then scoot back all the way in your seat, so you have a decent amount of room.
- Simply ask for some room between you and your restraint. This might be rarer than usual, but when I went to Northern California, the ride ops were nice enough to give me a bit of room, so I didn’t get stapled. This mostly happens at Cedar fair parks like Knott’s Berry Farm or California’s Great America. You will rarely see Enthusiast ride ops at any of the Six Flags parks, but if you do, give yourself a pat on the back, and the ride op a high five or a fist bump.
- Hold Your restraint up with one hand. What I mean is so you don’t get stapled on forceful parts like the valleys of hills, the bottom of big drops, or helixes. As much as you want to hold your hands up, I’d suggest holding them up at big hills filled with airtime. I mean as in you want to try to push it up or hold it in place so it doesn’t ratchet down a few clicks and being tied to the back of your seat the rest of the ride.
Well that’s all of the advice that I have for you to have a bunch more of fun on roller coasters with a gap between your restraint and your legs. Seeya!
