This 5-Year-Old Paid Off the Lunch Balances for 123 Students by Selling Cocoa and Cookies

A 5-year-old girl, Katelynn Hardee, raised enough money to pay off negative lunch balances of 123 students at her school at Breeze Hill Elementary School. She heard a parent talking about how she could not keep paying for an after school program. Katelynn started asking lots of questions. Her mom simply told her that some people aren’t as fortunate as other people and that we try our best to give what we can to them. She started thinking about what she had said.

On December 8th, Katelynn decided she would spend her Sunday selling hot cocoa, cider, and cookies. She somehow ended up getting $80 out of it. When they were done, they donated it all to the school.

In conclusion, it’s amazing what people can do to make a difference.
