Season 1

Rating 14+

Review 4.5/5 stars, Highly Recommended

The show Riverdale follows Archie, Veronica, Jughead, and Betty as they go through their school lives and difficult situations after. The first season deals with a student Jason’s death that is classified as a murder when 2 characters find his body washed up in Sweetwater River in episode 1.  Jason was one of the character’s (Cheryl Blossom) twins who has a hard time dealing with his death during the entire show. Throughout season 1, the core four (Archie, Veronica, Jughead, and Betty) try to figure out who killed him and why while comforting each other and discovering their feelings for each other. Personally this season is my second favorite season because compared to season 2 and 3, it is more innocent and has a better plot line. The plot is more believable than season 3 where the character’s family trees are mixed, where repeated people who you think are dead are alive, and people are dying left and right in scary unrealistic ways. The other seasons are predictable but still entertaining and good with the darkness but variety of visible color. Season 1 is where you find out who the characters really are and see their friendships and relationships grow as they solve crime and drink milkshakes at Pop’s together.
