Our question is simple: what is surfing? Surfing is a water sport that originated in Hawaii and was originally just for kings or royals. Even Captain James Cook was very impressed and stunned about the Hawaiians floating across the waves. Today surfing is one of the largest sports in the world and they have many competitions for the sport. A surfboard is usually a type of foam covered in an epoxy resin and then they add fins for the extra thrust. Some of the best surfers today include Kelly Slater and John John Florence. The new technology today has made it possible to skim 90-foot waves and even higher, usually at a place called Nazare, which is a fishing village in Portugal.
